Alicia Poole osteopath Market Bosworth Hinckly Nuneaton

Osteopathy is a healthcare profession that works primarily via the musculoskeletal system to diagnose, treat and help patients to manage a wide range of healthcare issues.

Alicia Poole is the principal osteopath at TheBodyWorks Osteopathy. The core principle that she adopts is that wellbeing is dependent on how you, as an individual, are able to function and adapt to changes in physical capability and your environment. Osteopaths are often described as treating the individual rather than the condition: when treating a patient I adopt a biopsychosocial approach, considering biological, psychological and social factors, instead of viewing a symptom or injury in isolation.

Treatment is intended to aid the body's own healing systems and may include physical manipulation, stretching and massage to improve joint mobility, relieve muscle tension and improve blood and nerve supply, as well as helping you to discover active ways of enhancing and maintaining your own health and wellbeing.

Treating your body not just the symptoms

How can TheBodyWorks Osteopathy
help you?

Effective treatment begins with an effective diagnosis. TheBodyWorks Osteopathy treats you as an individual, and will provide a specific treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. You may be suffering with knee pain, however looking at the whole body and assessing the effect on the hip and spine, for example, could be the key to your improvement.

Back pain, neck pain, spinal pain

Osteopathy can help relieve the symptoms of a range of conditions, including:

  • Back pain*

  • Sciatica

  • Neck pain* and headaches arising from the neck

  • Shoulder, elbow and hand pain

  • Hip, knee and ankle pain

  • Muscle spasms

  • Sports injuries and tensions

  • Arthritic pain

  • Rheumatic pain

  • Back pain in pregnancy

  • Aches and pains in association with a patient's posture or work

* In cases of injury or accident it is advisable to seek advice from your GP in the first instance.
